Danielle & Ed | Metropolitan at the 9 Wedding

I'll never forget meeting Danielle and Ed and thinking, "OK, I want to work with this couple." Besides being fun and funny and personable and kind, they are just good people and you understand that the minute you meet them.

Danielle and Ed's wedding was such an awesome reflection of them. It was full of all these great moments. Simple, touching, hilarious. The entire day was such a great tribute to them and the people they love. Some of the most notable moments of their fall wedding day include:

  • Danielle's parents opening their gifts from their daughter. Danielle and her sister and parents are so close and have such a beautiful relationship. It was so fun to watch them all support each other and laugh and cry together all day.
  • All the thoughtful ways Danielle included her grandparents in her day, including wearing her late grandma's bracelet and doing a special dance with her grandpa at her reception.
  • Watching how much respect Ed's family and friends have for him. Not surprising because that guy is pretty cool. ;)
  • Ed's varied emotions as Danielle walked down the aisle. Their's was the sweetest "first look" I've ever photographed.
  • The wedding party being champs about taking photos in a wind storm! We actually lucked out with the weather as it called for rain all afternoon, so I'll take that wind thankyouverymuch.
  • Danielle's dad's touching toast to his little girl. I'm telling you. This family.
  • Ed's brother gifting the newlyweds with a pumpkin during his toast. Hilarious.
  • Ed serenading his new wife with Home. :)
  • And … drumroll, please … Ed and his dad serenading the entire crowd with their harmonica skills. That family is talented!

Danielle and Ed, I can't thank you enough for all your kindness and generosity over the last year-and-a-half. It was SO FUN to photograph your wedding day, and it just made me adore you two even more. Hugs!

Rachel & Pat | Gervasi Vineyard Wedding

Canton Ohio Wedding PhotographerIn case you forget Rachel and Pat's story, let me recap it for you: They both traveled (separately) to the Kentucky Derby from Cleveland and met for the first time while surrounded by hats, bow ties, and lots of horses. Crazy, right? It's kinda unbelievable that they had mutual friends, had never met before and say they "probably never would have met otherwise."

I've admittedly only known these two together, but I can't imagine either with anyone else. They're both so selfless, generous and extremely thoughtful. They both constantly have smiles on their faces and are so sweet with each other and everyone around them. And I don't think it's coincidence that their families are equally as great. I loved photographing this summer vineyard wedding. Rachel and Pat, you guys are the best. For real.

Mary & Jimmy | The Club at Key Center Wedding

Shaker Heights Ohio Film Wedding PhotographerHe lived downstairs in Mary's duplex. She just couldn't imagine going out with someone who lived in the same building, so she said no to every one of his offers to take her out. Jimmy must have had a sixth sense about how special Mary was because he offered to move if it meant he'd finally be able to have that date. Mary reconsidered. How ironic that they're married now, right? Jimmy knew what he was doing!

Mary and Jimmy have an obvious spark. They're kind, they're mature, they laugh easily and have fun always. They complement each other so well and think the world of each other. Get this, their favorite thing about each other is basically one and the same: They love that the other is completely caring, inclusive and puts others before him/herself. (I can attest to that, they both insisted that Nathan and I get in on their champagne toast with their wedding party. Talk about thinking of others!)

Get ready for a crazy amount of photos; I just couldn't narrow down the images from Mary and Jimmy's gorgeous and emotional day. Their's was one of my very favorites from last year and I'm so excited to finally share it!

Mary and Jimmy, I think the world of you two. I hope your marriage is just as fun as ever!

Mary and Jimmy had planned to see each other outside for the first time, but with a consistent rain/snow mix we had to move the first look inside. It didn't dampen the excitement at all!

It was freezing--absolutely freezing--while we were taking these photos. At one point it started to hail and we had to take cover under a bridge. But they all smiled and laughed like it was nothing. I'm so grateful to have clients (and friends of clients!) who are willing to do whatever it takes for a good photo!
