Many more of these two next week, but I wanted to give them a little peek before they jet off to FIJI! (So jealous!) Beautiful couple, beautiful flowers, beautiful day!

Oxford, OH Wedding: Callie & Robert11.11.11
This was such a fun wedding for me. Even though I second shot this one with Amanda way back in July, I have to share it now because it was gorgeous!
First of all, these two are so sweet and their friends and family couldn’t have been happier about their marriage. Second, Callie and Robert’s wedding was in Oxford at Miami University, which of course holds a special place in my heart. Finally, they used almost every, single vendor Nathan and I used at our wedding. Definitely good taste.
Enjoy this classy pair!

Covington, KY Wedding: Amanda & Andy10.29.11
Whew, it’s been awhile since I posted ACTUAL photography projects! Sorry guys, hope you’re not getting too sick of my personal projects.
To tide you over until I get started here in Cleveland, I thought I’d share a few photos from a Covington wedding I second shot with Amanda Donaho Photography back in JULY! Yeah, that’s how behind I am. Wedding planning took over my life!
Enjoy this sweet couple!

Yellow Springs Wedding: Sarah & Graham08.14.11
Oh man, I loved this wedding. For lots of different reasons:
- Sarah and Graham are really cool people.
Nathan and Graham are friends from grad school. They both got (or Graham’s almost got!) a masters in renewable and clean energy engineering, and they’re both in the Air Force. So, naturally I like Graham and Sarah, too! - Their wedding was SO perfectly them. It was held at the Glen House Bed and Breakfast in Yellow Springs, Ohio, which is located on a nature preserve and filled with art and really cool details and architecture. The whole day was tied together so well … you’ll see.
- Both of their families were so welcoming and checked on me throughout the day.
- I had tons of time for portraits and detail shots, and …
- Oh yeah! I got to shoot this wedding BY MYSELF! Ahhhh! I was so excited that Graham and Sarah asked me to be a part of their day, and being the photographer for their wedding helped me realize just how much I love photography. Wedding photography is STRESSFUL because you have to capture everything. Period. You can’t mess up because it only happens once! But, thankfully, all went smoothly and I actually enjoyed the hectic pace.
So, because of all that, I couldn’t pare down my photo selection. I love photography, and really, photojournalism, because it’s a lot like writing. You’re telling a story with your images, and it’s jackpot when you get those perfect shots that fill in the gaps between the main story. Enjoy Sarah and Graham’s story!
Sarah and Graham, thank you again for letting me share in your special day. It means more to me than you will know! I hope you have a really relaxing time in Cancun. You both deserve it!

Cincinnati Wedding: Camille & Darian07.07.11
I’ve driven by the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center about 587 times but never gone in. Quite honestly, I never really thought about the fact that there’s an awesome and unique art museum in the middle of my city. Shows how much I know!
I’m so glad I was given a reason–a GOOD reason–to go in the museum a couple weekends ago. I second shot Camille and Darian’s wedding with Amanda Donaho Photography, and their wedding was smack dab in the middle of the museum’s main floor. It.was.awesome.
Camille and Darian are such a sweet, laid back and CALM couple. If I can be half as calm on my wedding day as Camille was on her’s, I’ll be a happy lady.
Without further ado, I present …

Cincinnati Wedding: Sarah & Dominick06.19.11
I absolutely loved this wedding. Sarah and Dominick are some of the coolest people I’ve EVER met! More than anything, I so admired the way they wore their emotions on their sleeves. I’m automatically fascinated by people like this because I secretly wish I was like that!
When you think of a wedding day, Sarah and Dominick pretty much embodied it. They didn’t let anything get to them, they were completely enthralled with each other, and they made it 100% obvious that they really appreciated everyone sharing their day with them. There was so much love surrounding them on their wedding day, if I can capture even half of that on my day, I’ll be super happy!
And, a fun fact for you: For their honeymoon, Sarah and Dominick visited the Big Island of Hawaii and hoped to stay at Kona Village Resort for part of their trip. Nathan and I booked the same place way back when we were planning, but learned in March that it was destroyed by the tsunami! We all had to rebook unfortunately, but I know that Sarah and Dominick had to have an awesome time at their new location. It IS Hawaii, after all. Does it really matter where you’re staying?
Thanks for a fun day, guys!

Cincinnati Wedding: Anna & Nick06.04.11
It’s crazy looking back on the photos I took at my first wedding with Amanda (September 2009). It seems like the whole learning process has been slow, but comparing then to now is like stepping through a time warp! I definitely have LOTS more to learn, but I am so appreciative of the internship and second shooting opportunities I’ve had with Amanda Donaho Photography. An internship is the way to go if you’re trying to get into photography, people!
Anyways, more on that later. THIS post is about Anna and Nick. I had so much fun at this wedding, mostly because the bride, groom and wedding party were awesome. I know I say it every time, but Amanda’s clients are a-mazing. It didn’t hurt that we shot portraits at Spring Grove Cemetary and Arboretum. I know, I know. It seems crazy to shoot wedding portraits in a cemetery (kind of an oxymoron, right?), but you probably haven’t seen this cemetery. It’s the coolest place ever! Someone put some serious thought into designing it.
So, between the people, the details, the WEATHER (NO rain, finally!) and the love, this wedding was a favorite of mine.

Cincinnati Wedding: Adrienne & Raoul05.25.11
About a month and a half ago, I got to shoot another wedding with Amanda Donaho Photography. Whoohoo!
Like I said in my last wedding post, I love working with Amanda because SHE’S awesome and her clients are the best.
While I didn’t know Adrienne and Raoul before their wedding, I learned that they are both serving in the military. In fact, they traveled all the way to Cincinnati from North Carolina to get married!
Before meeting my fiancé, Nathan, who’s currently serving in the Air Force, I really didn’t know anyone in the military, and I didn’t appreciate anything about those who serve our country. Luckily, being with Nathan has opened my eyes to a whole new world, and I know that Adrienne and Raoul are doing great things.
Also, I can’t go without mentioning the details of this wedding. SO much thought and creativity was put into the cake topper and menu and flower arrangements and programs and … you get the point. Every detail meshed perfectly, and I LOVE DETAILS, so that was just fiiiine with me.
Check it out!

Cincinnati Wedding: Jamie & Justin05.19.11
I admit that I was nervous before this wedding. It was my first one of the year second shooting with the lovely Amanda of Amanda Donaho Photography. Buuuut, I should have remembered that her clients are THE BEST. Seriously. I don’t know where she finds these people. Every, single couple is friendly, welcoming, fun … and so ready to get married.
Jamie and Justin are definitely all of that, plus they have such a strong faith that I totally respect. Their day was filled with so much love, just like a wedding should!
Also, I have to credit Jamie and her bridesmaids for my mini obsession with Butler basketball this year. Some of them are Butler University alumni, and as they got ready they talked about the team’s potential run in March Madness.
I’m generally not a huge basketball fan, but basketball kind of runs in my family’s blood, plus my brother’s DII college basketball team had a ridiculously phenomenal year (more on that later), so I was eavesdropping on the girls’ convo. They were so excited to see how far Butler could make it this year, and I remember thinking, There’s NO way Butler’s getting past the first or second round.
Well, if you could have seen my bracket this year, you would realize that I had no reason to judge. So, the worse my bracket got and the farther Butler got, the more I cheered them on. And, every time I watched Butler play, I thought of Jamie’s wedding.
So, Jamie and Justin, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and great Butler University basketball.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this day for a long time: the unveiling of your very first wedding pictures. They are so much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I’m sooo happy for you and the fact that you have truly found your calling. Love you. Lots.
