Ashley & Dan | Engagement05.16.12

They agreed to go to their sophomore year Homecoming dance together … but just as friends. It went well, but it wasn’t until years later that Ashley and Dan started dating. And now look at them! Those teenagers had no idea that they’d be walking down the aisle together all grown up.

We met in Medina—their hometown—on a beautiful, SUNNY evening. I love that they wanted to document their engagement in Medina because that’s where their story started. And that’s just what I love to do. Document stories. Enjoy this one.

Ashley & Justin | Engagement05.07.12

I met them on a beautiful day in the heart of Chagrin Falls, and I knew it was going to be a great session. Justin made Ashley laugh the whole time (major points for him!) and you could just tell how much Ashley adored him. This is the No. 1 reason I love doing engagement sessions before I shoot a couple’s wedding—you get to know them and they get to know your shooting style, which makes the wedding a lot smoother and more fun!

Super excited to work with these two again in a just a couple short months! Their wedding is going to be beautiful. :)

Chagrin Falls Engagement See them there in the picture on the left?? Teeny tiny!

Chagrin Falls Engagement You guys should not have let me take that popcorn. I seriously ate it in two days!

At-Home Engagement: Melissa & Mike02.14.12

This last weekend, Cleveland got some snow. I definitely can’t complain because this winter has been so mild, but it’s just a little ironic that it finally snows and gets frigid the weekend I have an engagement session. Melissa and Mike are super laid back though and decided to do a quick at-home engagement session so they can get their save the dates out. We’ll be doing a longer session when it’s WARM and hopefully SUNNY, but for now, enjoy these two. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Those eyelashes!

Thanks, you guys, for being so awesome!

Chagrin Falls, OH Engagement: Melissa & Greg01.03.12

27 degrees. It was 27 DEGREES during Melissa and Greg’s engagement session! And they acted like it was no big deal. To say they are troopers is an understatement.

These high school sweethearts are just that: sweet. They live in California but were home for the holidays (more bonus point for braving the cold after coming from sunny Cali!) and up for anything. We walked all around the cute, little town of Chagrin Falls, where their wedding will be later this year, and they humored me with my crazy ideas.

Melissa and Greg, thanks for spending the afternoon with me. I love how you make each other laugh. You both are so fun, and I’m already looking forward to your wedding!

We had to get some shots—and warm coffee—in front of the uber cute Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop.

We warmed up at The Inn of Chagrin Falls, where Melissa and Greg’s guests will stay the weekend of their wedding.

And then the sun really came out and it was glorious! :)

Yes, that’s a picture frame in a tree on the right. Get ready 2012 couples, I have some big ideas for props this season! :)

Cleveland Engagement: Kelly & Josh11.05.11

Kelly and Josh get the prize for being my first engagement session in Cleveland! And they also get a prize for being super patient while traipsing around the city for three hours while I explored lots of different photo ops. Thanks for being so awesome, you guys!

These two met in college here in Cleveland and are so cute together. Josh adores Kelly and is so sweet with her. And I know that Kelly has a ton of respect for Josh.

They will be tying the knot in August here in Cleveland and, get this, Amanda is shooting their wedding! Kelly and Josh entered her annual wedding giveaway and WON! Can’t wait to second shoot their big day.

Oh, and P.S. One of the first things Kelly told me was that she and Josh aren’t photogenic. Really?! I beg to differ. After you look at this blog post, please tell Kelly how wrong she is in that comment box below. :)

SO pretty, Kelly!

That one on the left there is my favorite from the WHOLE session. LOVE it!
